Situation

The client is responsible for rolling out smart meter systems to support national electricity, gas and water infrastructure networks. These include centralised secure data centres, thousands of remote base-station installations and the provision of millions of wireless connections.

Task

The network roll out will generate a very large volume of project information and data. The objective was to consolidate a number of discrete and often legacy data sets, into a single manageable asset to best support successful programme implementation.

Results

Evolution of a single, centralised database system for co-ordination of all supply and associated build activities. Integrated governance for roll out milestone management. Universal access for core and contracted supplier personnel, with approval, notification and comprehensive activity audit trail facilities.
